Commercial Dispute Resolution (CDR)

Canadian Pacific Railway's Commercial Dispute Resolution (CDR) process is a new option for shippers to address issues about railway rates or service. It was designed in consultation with our customers.

CDR is cost effective and time responsive.  It is intended to promote face-to-face discussion mediated by independent experts. CDR will encourage more detailed understanding of each party's position, more lasting commercial solutions and positive relationships with our customers.

CDR is in addition to all existing regulatory measures under the Canada Transportation Act that remain available for shippers.

Signing on to a CDR Agreement will not deprive a shipper of any other right or remedy under the Canada Transportation Act or any other law.

We believe shippers who choose to use CDR will find it a more accessible and cost effective model for finding lasting solutions to their concerns.

For more information about our CDR process, send an email to cdr@cpr.ca
