In the U.S., Prescott and Adam Puddington, along with special guests Shaun Verreault and Willy Porter will provide live music at each of our event stops.

Listen to some of our Holiday Train entertainers below:

Shaun Verreault: Canadian and U.S. Holiday Train
Shaun Verreault

Shaun Verreault is the lead singer/guitarist/songwriter/producer for Canadian blues rock trio Wide Mouth Mason. WMM have sold hundreds of thousands of albums, toured with heavyweights like AC/DC and The Rolling Stones, were in a movie with Pacino, were the first North American rock band to tour Mainland China and are a live favorite across Canada. Shaun's solo music endeavors have taken him to Afghanistan, Greece, and the Middle East, and he's delighted to be returning to the Holiday Train this year.

In 2007 Shaun recorded a live acoustic album called "Two Steel Strings" in the vintage cars of the Holiday Train as it rolled across Canada. The friends he's made in the Holiday Train organization, the hearty spirit of the crowds who stand in sub-zero weather to help their communities, and the wonder of seeing the continent roll by from train have made his years of involvement with this project an inspirational career highlight.

The Odds: Canadian Holiday Train
The Odds

The Odds, an alternative rock band, bring their energy and full voiced harmonies to the Holiday Train stage for the first time.  With international hits such as "Someone Who's Cool", "Eat My Brain", "Truth Untold", "Make You Mad" and "Mercy to Go", this power pop quartet will be sure to entertain.

The original Odds were formed in 1987 and played for 12 years before taking a hiatus in 1999. Up until 2007, the core unit of the Odds - Pat Steward, Doug Elliott and Craig Northey have been busy collaborating on projects by Strippers Union with Rob Baker of the Tragically Hip, Northey Valenzuela with Jesse Valenzuela of the Gin Blossoms, several Colin James albums, session work for Jeremy Fisher, Matthew Good, Payolas, two feature film scores (Kids in the Hall in Brain Candy, Dog Park with Luke Wilson) and the themes for CTV's hit Corner Gas.

The three Odds members were then joined by guitarist Murray Atkinson in 2007, and the four formed The new Odds on their debut album "Cheerleader". "Cheerleader," says Elliott of the new release, "is the culmination of the music that we've created in our lives up to this point, and I think it's the best music we've ever made together."

The Odds are now a whole new thing, with the soul of the Odds of old propelling the collective eagerness of a brand new band.

Porter offers a rich blend of salt and sugar with tracks that move easily from rough-hewn electric edges into soulful irony. Willy is a seasoned live performer and has toured with artists as diverse as Jeff Black and Tori Amos.

Prescott: U.S. Holiday Train
Prescott

Prescott is Kaylen and Kelly Prescott, a brother and sister duo, third generation musicians. Their young world was a revolving door of talented musicians and songwriters, who recorded at their family's studio. As children and grandchildren of performers, they were immersed in touring life. It seems natural that they now embark on their own musical journey.

Their debut CD, "The Lakeside Sessions" is an impressive collection of songs textured with rock and roots, heartbreak and love. Pooling their rich songwriting strengths and unique, beautiful harmonies, Prescott embody the soul of generations.

Both Kaylen and Kelly have performed on the Holiday Train in the past. This year mark's their first year performing as "Prescott", and they are excited to be making this journey with Adam Puddington, Shaun Verreault and Willy Porter, raising money and food for North American food banks.

Adam Puddington: U.S. Holiday Train
Adam Puddington

Adam Puddington is a singer/songwriter from Almonte, Ontario, a small town in the Ottawa Valley bisected by both the Mississippi River and a set of train tracks. He grew up listening to the trains rumble through his little town and continues to be fascinated by them to this day, as is evident in the lyrics of songs on each of his three solo releases. In joining the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train for the first time Adam looks forward to joining his passion for trains with his love of Christmas, all to help support local food banks when they are needed the most.
