August 2005:

Canadian Pacific Railway is pleased to offer:

 - A  5 pack set  of intermodal  double and single stack container cars for Microsoft Train Simulator. These are typical of the cars used in intermodal container services on both the East and West coasts. These models are courtesy of Matt Cyr and Chris Wilson.

September 2005:

Canadian Pacific Railway is pleased to offer the following:

- A Sperry Rail Detector Car, created by Harold Clitheroe.  Sperry Cars are used as part of the track inspection routine done to ensure that trackage is defect free, and is of the correct profile.  The Rail Detector Car was developed as a jointly-financed project by the American Railway Association (ARA) and the Sperry Co. beginning in 1926. The ARA contracted with Sperry to manufacture a rail detector car, initializing a method by which the magnetic detection equipment (invented by Elmer A. Sperry in 1923) contacted the rail. This system proved unsatisfactory as dirt, oxide and scale on the rail surface interfered with its operation. Sperry continued work on the project, developing the "induction method" which utilized electrical induction coils suspended above the rail. Thus equipped, a successful rail detector car was produced and delivered to ARA in 1928. The newly-organized Sperry Rail Service operated additional cars on a contract basis with the railroads. A new method of rail flow detection using ultra-sonic high frequency sound waves was introduced by Sperry and mounted on rail detector cars in 1949. The ultra-sonic system proved particularly useful in detecting rail joint flaws not found by the induction method. As a result, by 1985 all of the Sperry detector cars in service used a dual induction/ultrasonic system

- A Canadian Pacific Ice Breaker Boxcar, created by Harold Clitheroe. Canadian Pacific created these unique boxcars by adding a metal icebreaker. These cars break icicles that can form at tunnel entrances, and prevent damage to taller rolling stock, such as double stack intermodal cars, and autoracks. These cars are typically forst in any winter consist.

- A U Class Tourist Sleeper Passenger Car, created by Harold Clitheroe. In order to add capacity to the "Canadian" during peak tourist season,  22 heavyweight 14-section sleepers were rebuilt upgraded in Canadian Pacific's Angus Shops in 1955. To match the "Canadian"s appearance,  fluted stainless steel fluted stainless steel cladding was added to the car sides. These were designated  as the '"U Series" sleepers and were named as follows:  Udall, Uganda, Ullswater, Ulster, Ulysses, Umber, Underwood, Unicorn, Unity, Universe, Unwin, Uplands, Upsala, Upton, Uranus, Urban, Uren,  Urquhart, Usher, Utopia, Utica, Uxbridge
