The Barrie-Collingwood Railway (BCRY) provides timely, effective and safe rail car transportation and switching services for the customers of the City of Barrie and the Town of Collingwood.
The BCRY, which started operations on January 26, 1998, services a rapidly growing industrial area and commodities shipped including grain and lumber products, clays, chemicals and industrial products.
The Barrie-Collingwood Railway (BCRY) is a short-line railway operation involving a partnership between the City of Barrie, Town of Collingwood, current shippers, Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) and the railway operator - Cando Contracting Ltd.
BCRY offers daily service to its customers. To further improve the range and quality of services offered to customers, this alliance brings Cando - the local railway operator, the City of Barrie, Town of Collingwood, and CPR into a unique business partnership with its customers.
To provide service to any industry in the Barrie/Collingwood area, BCRY will either build a rail siding directly to the customer's facility or utilize their trans-loading facility at Utopia. BCRY provides next day service to shippers in Barrie on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and to customers in the Collingwood area on Tuesday and Thursday. With daily service to CPR's North American network, BCRY works with local shippers to customize shipping solutions that reduce freight costs and improve the customer's bottom line.
CPR m
arkets direct rail service to/from the Southern Ontario Communities of Barrie and Collingwood using BCRY as a Switch Carrier from the Utopia interchange.
